(More customer reviews)We have a pair of these brackets holding up a shelf for our microwave oven. They are working really well. They are beautiful, well crafted and rigid. We found that things like a jar wrench and kitchen towel hang well from the open circular strips.
Deciding to purchase these brackets was tough. I looked at many websites, searching for a reasonable price for brackets that would match our kitchen decor and be strong enough to hold up the microwave oven. I was impressed by the criss-crossed bars that appeared to, and actually do, help make these brackets strong. When I called customer service to get their perspective, the rep threw grossly inaccurate statements at me about welding vs. casting, and gave me details about these brackets that I recognized as being uncredible. I asked to speak with her supervisor. She apparently conferred with associates instead for a while until I persuaded her to let me talk with her supervisor. The person who identified herself as her supervisor referred to the rep for answers to my questions. I really did not want to deal with this company, but had sufficient faith in amazon.com's return policy to take the chance. We're glad I did.
The one issue that the rep was correct about was the importance of attaching these brackets firmly to the wall. I agreed that as strong as they are, they won't hold up anything if they are poorly attached. The rep insisted that I must hire a certified contractor to install them. I found that unnecessary. I used long brown deck screws to attach them to the solid wood of our log cabin wall, instead of using the more attractive short black screws that were included with the brackets.
